George at Asda Wish List

Gone are the days when popping to your local supermarket for the shopping meant only coming out with food. With most of the big supermarkets branching out into other areas the monthly shopping trip can turn out to be pretty expensive! Whenever I go to my local Asda my first port of call is always the clothes section and it's safe to say this is where I spend most of my money. George at Asda have so many gorgeous items in for summer I thought I would make up my wish list and share it with you all!

A Big Summer Haul

With summer on it's way I decided to treat myself (that's what credit cards are for right??) and get some new bits and pieces for my wardrobe.
So after talking my boyfriend into taking me to the shops the first place I went was New Look. My manager had given me a gift card for christmas and it had been burning a whole in my purse ever since. I wanted to save it for something I really wanted though and not just waste it. I'm glad I waited to spend it as it meant I was able to get this gorgeous black floral maxi skirt. I also got a white, pink and black tartan tshirt but I forgot to photograph that (oops sorry!). After New Look I hit up Primark which is were I always mange to spend a small fortune.
I picked up 2 vest tops with some nice frill detailing on the neck. I decided get one in black and one in navy as I thought they would be great for every day. I also got this gorgeous blue leave print cami which I can't wait to wear! I think it will be great for every day but I could also dress it up for a night out.

Next up was this pretty pink dress that I have seen on a few other blogs. I picked this up from the reduced section where it was marked up for £5 but when it went through the till it was only £3 so it was even more of a bargain!! It is slightly too big but for £3 a belt sorts that out. I also got this black and multicoloured dress, it's quite light weight so will be great for the summer.

Primark is great for their pyjamas and seen as I already have the unicorn bottoms and vest top I couldn't pass up getting the matching pyjama tshirt! I was planning on getting some new sandals but there wasn't any that caught my attention so I just got 2 pairs of pumps, a simple navy pair and a white pair with some pretty embroidery on them. I'm probably the last on the bandwagon but I am finally getting into statement necklaces so I picked up 2 that will be great for the summer. I also got some new earrings as well.

George at Asda have some amazing pieces in for this summer so when doing the shopping I couldn't help picking up a few bits! I love this maxi skirt and when I went to look for it they only had 1 in stock, luckly for me though it was in my size so I snapped it up!! Next I got this playsuit which I'm not sure about. I love it on and I really like the detailing round the neck, but it is slightly too big so I'm not sure if I should take it back or try and sort the straps so that it fits better, decisions decisions!

So that's my new summer wardrobe!! After getting all this lots, I think a spending ban is in order!!

A Day At Dickens Festival 2014

This weekend saw the annual Dickens Festival in Rochester and seen as the boyfriend and I both had the day off, we decided to take a stroll down and see what was going on. The high street was lined with food stalls, cake stalls, sweet stands and performers, that atmosphere was great! There were so many people dressed up and there were some gorgeous dresses! We wandered along the high street looking in all the quaint wee shops, listening to the performers and ended up in the castle ground which is where the fun fair always is. After watching a bit of Punch and Judy and a stroll around the craft fair we went and got a hog roast for lunch (not easy things to eat when you are standing and trying to look dignified!) and waited for the main parade along the high street. After watching the parade we topped the day off with some fresh hot doughnuts and a leisurely walk back home in the sun!

Review - Asda Dry Shampoo

I have been using dry shampoo for as long as I can remember. There has been many an occasion when it has come to my rescue and saved me from a hair disaster. I remember a time when the only dry shampoo that was available was the original Batiste. Nowadays however, there are loads of options on the market and today I am trying out Asda's offering!
The first thing that I noticed when trying this out was how nice it smells. It is a really fresh, fruity smell and leaves my hair smelling great. You apply this like the majority of dry shampoos, spray it on your roots, give it a rub and then style.
I really like this dry shampoo, it does exactly what it should do and gives me another day without having to wash my hair. It adds a nice amount of volume to my hair and doesn't leave any horrible white chalky powder either.
One of my favourite thing about this dry shampoo though is the price, at only £1 it is a bargain and I will definitely be popping it in my basket next time I am in store!

Review - W7 Hair Chalks

When I was offered the chance to try out the W7 hair chalks* I jumped at the chance! I have always been not very adventurous with my hair. I have always wanted to dye it some crazy colour but unfortunately my work is boring and you are only allowed natural hair colours. So the W7 hair chalks seemed like the perfect solution to my problem though!
I was sent the colours Peach Red and Purple to try out.

The chalks were very easy to use, you simple take the section of hair you want to colour place it on the chalk and squeeze as you pull it down the length of your hair. Once I had done that I sprayed some hairspray on the sections to seal in the chalk. I did find that it pulled on my hair slightly though and could be a wee bit sore.
The very name, hair chalks, suggests that this is going to be a messy product to apply so I would definitely recommend applying them over a sink or bath and to cover up any white/light coloured clothing you might be wearing. The style of clip applicator definitely kept the mess to a minimum though and made them very easy to apply.
I was surprised at how well the colours showed up on my hair as I thought they would only really work on lighter or blonde hair. Both colours were easily noticeable and quite bright in my hair.
Both colours lasted well too, the purple faded slightly faster than the peach red and I had lovely pink bubbles when I washed them out of my hair the next day!

Overall I really like the W7 hair chalks. They are a fun, cheap way to brighten up and change your hair ready for the summer!

*These were sent to me for consideration. All opinions are my own

NOTD - Make Up Revolution Boy Needs Girl

If you seen my last post on my Make Up Revolution haul then you will know that I picked up one of their £1 nail polishes. At £1 there were so many polishes I could have chose but I was restrained and chose a gorgeous pale baby pink called Boy Needs Girl. I have been wearing this all week and I received so many compliments about it and people asking where it is from. One thing I wasn't a massive fan of though was the formula of the polish. The polish went on a little streaky and it took 3 coats to get an nice even, opaque finish. It lasted well on my nails though, with only a few chips after a couple of days wear.
Overall I like this polish, I love the price, the compliments I got while I was wearing it and the colour! It is a great colour for summer and I think I will definitely be picking up some more colours from the range!

Beauty - Make Up Revolution Haul

If you are like me and spend a lot of time on Twitter and reading blogs, then I am sure that the new brand on the block, Make Up Revolution, hasn't passed you by!
After seeing a few posts and tweets about it I thought I would check it out myself and see what all the fuss was about. And after about 2 minutes of being on their website I decided I needed to place an order!!
One thing that I love about Make Up Revloution is the price, with items as low as £1 it would have been rude not to order a few things! Right??

I have seen a lot of people say that the Redemption palettes are dupes of the Urban Decay Naked palettes so the Iconic 3 palette was first into my basket and at only £4 it's a complete bargain. I also picked up 3 single eyeshadows in Temptress (the green one), Frozen (silver one) and Illuminate (pale gold) which were all £1. I can't wait to try all of these out! Another 2 eye products I got were the Amazing Eyeliner Waterproof and the Amazing Lengths Mascara, which were both £1.50. A girl can never have too many mascaras! From the lip products I chose 3 lipsticks, all for £1 each. Bliss and Divine both look quite similar and look like they will be great everyday spring/summer colours. I also picked up Lady which is waaay out of my comfort zone! I don't really own any red lipsticks so for £1 I thought I would give this one a go! The last item I got was a nail polish in Boy Needs a Girl for £1, a pale baby pink that I think is very simialr to Barry M's Rose Hip.

I haven't tried out many of the products yet, but the ones that I have, have impressed me. I think there may be another wee Make Up Revolution haul on the cards soon!
