NOTD - Barry M Instant Nail Effects!

I know you've seen so many posts with this nail polish but it's just so amazing I had to show you my NOTD!
I used a gold polish that I picked up at poundland which for £1 is really really good! Then I obviously added the Barry M Instant Nail Effect polish on top. I think it looks great and I was complimented on my nails while I was at work by a customer.

Have you tried the instant nail effects?

E.L.F and Eyeko Haul

Hello!

So the past couple months have bought no make up at all so I thought it was time to change that!

It was E.L.F's 3rd birthday a couple of weeks ago and to celebrate they were giving away a free eye palette and free delivery if you spent over a certain amount (I think it was £10 but I'm not sure). There had been a few things I'd been eyeing up so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to get them.

The first thing I added to my basket was one of their brightening eye colours in Butternut. All 4 colours are really nice and have tiny flecks of glitter through them. They're all great every day colours!
The next thing that I got (it's not in the picture thought) was the daily brush cleaner. I've not tried this out yet but it smells amazing!!
I've been wanting a blending brush for ages so I popped the blending eye brush from the £1.50 range in with my stuff. I love this brush, it's so good for £1.50! It's the only E.L.F brush I've tried but after getting this one I'll definitely be trying some of the others.
I'm searching for a concealer that's going to cover my horrible dark circles so I thought I'd try there corrective concealer from the studio range. I've still to have a play about with it to see if it works though.
I also got their natural looking lush lashes and the eyebrow stencil set.
All this stuff came to £13 (I think!) which meant I would get free delivery and a free eye shadow palette! You would either get the party palette or the natural palette but it would be chosen at random what 1 you would get. I was hoping for the natural palette cause it's got more everyday colours, which is what I like, and I was so happy when that's the 1 that I got! 2 of the colours look really similar to 2 of the colours in butternut but they're all still great looking!

I also did a little bit of shopping on Eyeko as they had an offer on where you could get £20 worth of products for only £10! I also ordered one of their graffiti eyeliner pens in black which meant I could use an ambassador code and get a free gift! I added up all the products I got and I think I got another graffiti eyeliner free but this time it was in teal.

So for your £10 you got a selection of Eyeko's new products to the value of £20. I loved this idea cause you don't know what you're getting and it'll be a surprise when you get your parcel! I was a little worried I could end up with things that I hated.
I was very pleasantly surprised however!

In my goodie bag I got a London Lips lipgloss in Shoreditch (bottom right), Magic Bronzer Brush in Rio (top left) and Cheeky Colour in Glow Getter (top middle and right). I also got my 2 eyeliners (bottom left).

The only thing I might not use is the bronzer as it seems too dark for my pale skin but I might use it for contouring. All the rest I absolutely love! The blusher is exactly the colour I would have picked myself. It's a really nice pale pink and a nice bright pink, they both look brighter swatched than they do in the packaging. I wasn't sure about the lipgloss at first but once I swatched it I really liked it!

Overall I'm really pleased with all the things that I got!
Have you bought anything new recently??

NOTD - Collection 2000 + 17

I was in town the other day and got very excited when I went into Boots and the 17 stand finally had there matte top coat! I've been looking for it for ages but every time I was in they never had it so I'm so pleased I've finally managed to get my hands on it.
I decided to team it with Collection 2000's Hot Looks in Vogue which is a gorgeous blue colour.

And this is the results...........

Sorry for the rubbish picture!

Products I Regret Buying

Firstly just wanted to let you all know that this is my 100th post!! Who would have thought I would have so much to say!!

I'm sure that everyone has some products lurking in their collection that they wish they'd never bought. I had a little raid of mine and dug out the products that I regret buying.

1. Revlon Precision Lash Adhesive - I hate this! I bought it cause I used up all the glue that came with my false lashes but could still get some use out of them. I tried this once and I'm never going to use it again. I just could't get it to come off my eyelid after I had taken the lashes off. For days my lids kept sticking and no matter what I tried it just wouldn't come off.

2. "MAC Heatherette" Lipstick - I bought this in a twitter sale and it wasn't until I got it that I found out that it's a fake. Not happy!

3. Collection 2000 Brilliant Shimmer Lipgloss - There isn't anything wrong with this product, it's just that I don't wear it. I have sooooooo many lip products and this is one I just never reach for.

4. Blistex - I really don't like this. I don't like the little ball applicator and when I put it on it just totally dries up my lips. Not really what you what from a lip salve.

5. Collection 2000 Glam and Glitter - This is like the other Collection 2000 product really, there's nothing wrong with it, I've just never worn it. Think the glitter puts me off a bit cause it just goes everywhere!

6. Bourjois Lipstick - This is a totally pointless product, there is absolutely no colour in it when I apply it, not good.

So what do you regret buying??
Would love to see you're products so leave me a link if you decide to do a post like this!

First off I want to explain where ive been! Im sorry Ive not been doing many posts recently, ive had a lot on recently and ive had no insperation for blogging so I thought I would just give it a bit of a break until I felt like doing it again.

So my project bathroom's been going now for 2 months and I am slowly using up the stash of beauty products that I own. During August I managed to use up another 6 items off my list so im pretty pleased with that.

I also used up my Pure wipes and my eye make up remover. I hated this make up remover, it's supposed to be sensitive but all it did was make my eyes sting really bad for hours after using it, so glad this is finished!

Project 10 Pan (kinda)

First of all, I am really sorry for the lack of posts recently. Ive just started a new job and by the time I get home I just want to sleep. I'm not used to having to get out of bed before 11am!

So, money is really tight just now and I really cant afford to be spending money on things I don't need. To try stop me doing this, I'm going to do a Project 10 Pan. But I'm going to do it a little bit different.

Instead of picking out 10 items from my collection, then finishing those 10 set items I am going to just try and use up any 10 items. So once Ive finished any 10 items I'll be able to treat myself to some new make up. Does that make sense??

I don't think I would do very well if I picked out 10 items and then tried and stick those things. This way I think I'll have more of a chance of completing it! I'll try and do monthly updates for you on how I'm getting on. Hopefully it wont take me too long.

So wish me luck everyone!

NOTD - W7 Silk

I really like this colour in the bottle but once I put it on I was a little unsure about it but it's growing on me. It's a peachy nude and I wasn't sure if it suited me. I've had it on for 4 days now though and I'm starting to like it. It's slightly darker in really life than it looks in the picture but it took 4 or 5 coats to get a decent colour pay off. It hasn't got one chip in it though which I am quite impressed with! I've got another 2 W7 polishes to try and I'm looking forward to trying them now seen as this one has lasted so well. Think I might be purchasing some more!!

FOTD and My failed attempt at making a salt spray

Hi

I decided last night that I was going to attempt to make a salt spray for my hair. I've been wanting to try one for a while cause I love that beachy wave look but I've got super straight hair. I only had a little 100ml spray bottle but I thought I would still give it a go and if it worked I could get a bigger bottle.

So I poured my 100ml of water into my little measuring jug and added 1tsp of sea salt. I stirred it all together until the salt had dissolved and then poured it into my spray bottle and screwed on the lid. When I tried to get it to spray though it wouldn't work!
I tried everything I could to get it to spray but it just wasn't happening :( So in the end I just poured a little of the water onto my hand at a time and scrunched it into my hair. Then I split my hair into sections and put lose pleats in my hair so that they could dry over night.

This morning I jumped out of bed and whipped the baubles out to see if my hair had worked. I was quite impressed with the results, I don't think it was anything to do with the salt really more the fact my hair had been wet and left to dry, but my hair had a nice wave to it. The right side looks slightly better than the left so I've put it up with a nice flowery bauble cause I'm feeling very summery today!

I'm going to go and get another spray bottle that works and give this another go. Think I might also buy a salt spray and see how it compares.

Now on to my face of the day!

I've only got this one picture cause my camera died half way through taking the pictures.

Face

Bourjois Illuminating Gel in Caramel
Sleek Contour kit in Light
The Colour Warehouse blusher (doesn't have a name but its a kinda pinky colour)
Natural Collection Cover Up Creme in Fair

Eyes

Sleek Original Palette (purple shadow)
Sleek Bohemian Palette (light cream and purple shadow)
Prestige iQuad in Electronic (light pinky/purple)
Elizabeth Arden gel eyeliner in black
Rimmel 1,2,3 Looks mascara
Benefit Eyebright

Review - Batiste Gold Shimmer Dry Shampoo

(Image taken from chemistdirect.co.uk)

Now I normally love Batiste, I cant live without it, so when I saw this in Superdrug I thought I would give it a go.

I really wish I hadn't!

There's nothing I really like about this product, I hate the smell, I ended up with glitter all over my face when I used it and it didn't really make any difference to my hair.
When I washed my hair the following day I found that I still had loads of glitter in it as well so you need to give your hair a really good scrub to get it all out.

I definitely wont be re-purchasing this, I'm not sure if I'll even finish it but at just under £3 I've not really lost much.

Has anyone else tried this and had more luck then me?

Random FOTD + OOTD

Hello, how are you all??

Just a quick wee post!

Thought I would share this little pic that I found, with you all of a FOTD and OOTD from when I went to see Pink.

I just wore my denim skirt with a white lace backed tshirt and a black vest underneath.

I can't remember what I used on my face cause it was a while ago now and I've only just realised I had the picture. I think it was my colourstay foundation, benefit smashbox, a brown eyeshadow all over my eye with my rimmel 1,2,3 mascara and a black eyeliner.

xx

NOTD - 17 Tropical Island and a bit of nail art

Excuse the claw like pose I've got going on here but wanted you to be able to see my little attempt at some nail art.

Tropical Island from 17 is a really nice orange colour and you cant see it from the picture but it's got little bits of gold glitter mixed through it. A nice summery colour I think! :)

On my thumb I just put 3 stars out of a pack of those confetti stars that you get. I picked out 2 dark blue stars and a light blue star and just positioned them where I wanted while the polish was still wet.

This look didn't last very long, but that's because I was naughty and picked it all off while I was waiting to do something. Oops!

A Little Haul For You

Hiya!

If you follow me on Twitter then you might know that I was at my boyfriends at the weekend. He was busy on the Monday practicing for his bike test (which he passed!!!) so I got to spend the day in Maidstone shopping! Thought I would show you some of the things I picked up.

I finally got my hands on a Sleek contour kit. Ive been wanting one of these for ages but my local Superdrug never really has a great stock of Sleek products so I was pleased to finally be able to get one of these. I got it in light seen as im so pale! I tried it today and I love it! Definitely going to be doing a face of the day with this.

It was difficult to get a picture where you can see the highliter but it was really nice once it was on my cheeks and gave a really nice glow.

I also picked up an eye crayon from Saver for 69p! Bargain! It's a nice shimmery pink colour (bottom of the swatches).

While in Primark I saw this gorgeous butterfly ring and had to have it! Can't wait to wear it out!

I also picked up 3 W7 nail polishes, a pink one, a peach one and a grey one, and an Elizabeth Arden gel eyeliner in black (second from the bottom on swatch picture).

Ive not spent any money in ages so was nice to get some new things. Need to try save the pennies though so going to try not buy any more for a while now! We'll see how long that lasts though ;)

Review - Montagne Jeunesse Cucumber Peel Off Masque

Hi guys!

So these reviews are becoming a bit of a weekly feature! This is the third face mask from the Montagne Jeunesse range that I've reviewed on my blog.

(Picture taken from Superdrug website)

This mask was one of their peel off masks which is designed to remove dead skin cells, impurities and unblock your pores. It has cucumber in it so it's nice and cooling when you apply it as well.

When you apply this mask it comes out the packet as a clear green liquid which you just slap on your face! You leave it to dry, which took about 15 minutes but some parts that were obviously a little thicker took longer. There's not much of a smell to this mask, a slight cucumber smell at the most.

One of the things I love about this mask is that you peel it off! It's a little weird but I find something strangely satisfying about peeling off the mask, especially when it all comes off in one! Peel off masks are also great cause they so easy to take off and make hardly any mess.

Once I'd taken the mask off my skin felt nice and smooth and looked slightly more awake than before I put the mask on. And there's something really relaxing about having a face mask on. So overall I was pretty pleased with this mask and think I would definitely purchase it again.
For the peel off factor alone! Hehe!

Review - Andrew Collinge Illuminating Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner

Hi guys!

Sorry this post has taken so long!

If you read my blog regularly you might remember that I won a competition and received £100 worth of Andrew Collinge products! I've been using the shampoo and conditioner for blonde hair (which I have) for about a few month now so I thought it was time I did a review........

First of all, these smell amazing! I love the smell so much. Both the shampoo and conditioner have chamomile, almond and aloe vera in them which are to help eliminate dullness and reveal shimmery, shiny tones! They also make your hair smell gorgeous and the smell lasts in your hair as well which I like. I hate it when you get a shampoo or something that you love the smell of but it just washes straight off.

They both have a UV filter to help protect your lock from the harmful rays of the sun as well. I really like this cause I'm really paranoid about my hair being in good condition. I would say that since using the shampoo and conditioner my hair has a little bit more of a shine to it and looks really healthy.

You get 500ml in each bottle so these are lasting me aaaages! They aren't very expensive either. You can pick them up in Superdrug for £4.99 each or 2 for £7 and I'm sure I saw them in Tesco the other day for £4.99 buy one get one free.

I really like these products and I cant wait to make my way through my collection. Once I have used them all up though I think I would definitely buy these products again.

xx

NOTD - 17 Lasting Fix Mint Choc Chip

I love this colour! I was a little unsure while I was putting it on cause I haven't really worn a colour like this before but I'm so glad I put it on! It's so summery and lovely! This is 3 coats of the colour but I think I might apply another coat on top of this.

Everyone should have this colour in their life!!

Review - Montagne Jeunesse Fruit Smoothie Face Mask

Hey everyone!

Last week I reviewed the fudge sauna mask so I thought I would review one of the other mask I have. So this week it was the turn of the fruit smoothie face mask. This mask is a pore cleansing mask and is supposed to leave you feeling cleansed and sparkling!

(Image taken from montagne-jeunesse.com)

The first thing I noticed was how thick it was, it reminded me of a clay mask. It has raspberry, mango, apricot, peach and pomegranate in it so it smells really fruity! I'm a little unsure of the smell though, I can't decide if I like it or not, I'm leaning slightly more towards not liking. I don't know what it is about the smell, might be the raspberries cause I'm not a massive fan of them.

So put the mask on nice and thick cause you seemed to get loads in the packet, you could probably get 2 uses out of it if you were careful. I then sat back for the next 15 minutes and let the mask work its magic! While the mask was drying I noticed that it made my face feel really cold which was quite refreshing. After 15 minutes I headed to the bathroom to wash it off, this is where the problems started!

I found it took ages to wash all the mask off cause it was so thick and I ended up with it everywhere. Once I finally washed it all of thought it did leave my face feeling nice and smooth and every time I moved my head throughout the night I got a nice fruity smell from it. When I looked in the mirror this morning though my pores were all really visible!! I could see some I had never seen before which is never good!

All in all I'm not very impressed with this mask, I much prefer the fudge one. Don't think I will be re-purchasing this particular face mask.

Review - Ardell DuraLash Individual Lashes

Bonjour!

I have a terrible track record with false lashes! I normally end up with them stuck to middle of my lid or gluing my eye shut which is never a good look. So when I was sent these lashes by Andrea Lashes I wasn't holding out much hope for them. But after watching a few videos on how to apply them I was feeling slightly more confident.

So I set about tackling these little lashes, first thing I had to do was find something to put my glue on to. I made a little box out of tin foil and poured the glue into the middle of it and left it for a couple of minutes to go tacky.

While it was going tacky I took some before pictures of my lashes. I am always being told how long my lashes are but I don't really notice them and they don't look particularly long in the photos I took.

I don't like my eyelashes that much cause they are quite fair at the roots and I find it quite hard getting them all covered without getting mascara all over my lid!

So after leaving the glue for a wee bit I got my tweezers and took one the lashes and dipped it in the glue. I found it surprisingly easy to apply these lashes. I had much more luck with these than I had done with any strip lashes I'd tried before. They were a little bit fiddly but trying to apply the individual lashes was a lot easier than the strips and buy the time I got to my left eye I was a lot better than when I started and did it a lot faster.

I thought I did not bad for my first go! If you look really closely you can see some of the knots and I probably used a little more glue than I need to but I think it looks pretty good! After sleeping in them, a couple came out the next morning but I think that was more the way I had applied them than the glue. So I just re-glued them and I was good to go! By this point though I was loaded with the cold and the thought of putting on make up was too much.

These were a lot more comfortable to wear compared to the strip lashes as well. Normally when I have strip lashes on I am really aware of them but I couldn't feel these at all! The glue is supposed to last for 4-5 weeks and the lashes fall out as your new lashes grow in. I've already taken mine off though. I am just really bad at picking at things (I always pick my nail polish off!) and I've been in my bed ill the past couple of days so I picked them all off.

I will definitely try these lashes again but I think when I buy some I will buy medium ones. These ones are long ones and I felt the were a little too long for wearing everyday. Apart from that thought I love these lashes!

Review - Fudge Sauna Face Mask

Hi guys

I thought I would pamper myself a little bit tonight so wiped out the face mask collection and picked Montagne Jeunesse's Fudge Sauna face mask. It's a self heating mask that smells of vanilla fudge. It's supposed to open and deeply cleanse pores.

So I slapped it on my face and the first thing I noticed was how warm it was. I wasn't really expecting must on the self heating front, but I was pleasantly surprised. The mask only stayed warm however while I was applying it and moving it around with my fingers. After that it lost its heat.

The smell of this mask is amazing! It smells just like toffee yogurt to me and make me just wanna eat it all up! Thankfully I restrained myself and managed to get it on my face instead. Every now and again while I was wearing it though I would get a wee wiff of the amazing smell! It is quite sweet smelling though so if your not into sweet smells this probably isn't the mask for you.

After 10 minutes I washed it off with warm water. It came off really easily and left my skin feeling really nice! It had taken away the dull look that my skin had had before I applied it which was great and my pores definitely look clearer. I would definitely buy this mask again, it's a bargain at only 99p and a lot of the time they are on offer in Boots and Superdrug!

My Lovely New Lashes!

Alrighty!

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a goodie bag from Andrea Lashes on twitter and it arrived yesterday! I couldn't wait to open it and see what goodies were inside!

I got 2 sets of DuraLashes (top 2 sets in the picture), one set is a short set and the other is a long set. I cant wait to try these out, Ive never tried semi-permanent lashes before! It'll be interesting to see if I have anymore luck with these than I do normal eyelash strips. I also got a bottle of Perma-Lash Adhesive (bottom left) to apply them with.

I also got 3 sets of false lash strips which are all made from 100% human hair. There's a long black set (bottom middle), corner set (middle right) and a brown set of lashes (middle left). I've never seen brown false eyelashes before so it'll be interesting to see what they look like on. I also got a tube of eyelash adhesive (bottom right).

This was an amazing goodie bag and I'm really looking forward to having a play around with all my new lashes! You can

NOTD - Inspired by Cat!

I'm loving nail art just now and after seeing Cat's tutorial for glittery leopard print nails I thought I would give it a go! (you can see her post here!)

For the base colour I used 17's Pink Grapefruit, and for the dots I used 17's Sea Breeze and Asda's Lilac. To make the black marks round the dots I took Cat's advice and used an old eyeliner I didn't use, which worked great! For once my unsteady hand came in useful. I applied my No.7 top coat to make sure the eyeliner didn't wash off.

This look was super easy to do and I know it's not great looking but it was my first time trying nail art, so I can only get better!

NOTD - Urban Decay Graffiti

I bought this in Superdrug when I was getting some of the prizes for my giveaway. It's a really gorgeous shade of blue, that's got a purple shimmer to it when the light hits it.
I put this on before I went out this afternoon but I managed to get marks and chips in it which isn't good! I've taken it off and put it on again though cause I want to give it a fair go. Hopefully it's going to last a wee bit longer this time!

I was trying to get a picture where you could see the purple in it but it wasn't really happening!
