I'd Like Some Mint Choc Chip and a Little Parma Violet Please!! NOTD

What with all this good weather we've been having I thought I would have a wee look through my nail polish collection and find something fitting!
This is what I came up with......

I love these colours and I think they go great together!
I have had the polish on for 24 hours now and there has been absolutely no tip wear at all.
I love 17 nail polishes, I think you get great colour pay off and the price is great!

Review - Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Anti-Stress Mud Masque

I had the house to myself the other day so I thought I would take advantage of this and have a little pampering session.
After a lovely long hot shower I decided to try out this bad boy!!

(Picture taken from Montagne Jeunesse website)

This mask is designed to help cleanse the skin, open the pores and draw out impurities. It has a fragrance of lavender, sweet seaweed and dead sea minerals.

The first thing I thought when I applied the mask to my face was "where do I know that smell from???" and then it hit me! To me it smells like men's Gillette shaving gel. Not really a smell I wanted on my face but I was willing to give it a try.

The mask took about 20 minutes to dry and was easy enough to take it off. After taking it off though I noticed that my face felt quite warm and when I looked in the mirror it looked like I had been slapped or had a really bad case of sunburn!
I didn't notice any change in my skin either (apart from it looking like a tomato).

Overall I wasn't impressed with this mask and I wont be buying it again but it hasn't put me off Montagne Jeunesse as some of their other face masks are great!

NYX Swatches

After posting about my NYX find the other day a few of you asked me for some swatches,
so here they are!

First up......

Blushes:

Top: Natural
Bottom: Mocha

Both of these are so pigmented! A little definitely goes a long way with these.
They both blended out really well.

Blushes blended out slightly.

Eyeshadows:

Top: Violet
Middle: Flamenco
Bottom: Pretty Pink

This is quite a heavy swatch of Pretty Pink but it comes out slightly darker than it looks in the pan. The eyeshadow lasted really well and hardly creased while I was wearing them and that was without a primer!

Flamenco is such a gorgeous colour,
it has a gold going through it so it looks amazing when the light hits it

Lipglosses and Lip Pencil:

Left to right - Lip pencil in Mauve, Lipgloss in Whipped, Lipgloss in Strawberry

I LOVE whipped!! It is such a gorgeous nude gloss, I have been wearing it nearly everyday since I got it. It lasts well on the lips as well.

Lipsticks:

Top: Margaritta
Bottom: Femme

Femme

Both these lipsticks go on really smoothly and haven't dried my lips out at all.

Margaritta

After trying out the products I will definitely be going back to purchase some more! I would love to try some more of the creme blushes and lipsticks. They had some of the jumbo pencils in the shop but they weren't in colours I really fancied, tempted to try them though as all the things I already have are so good!

My TK Maxx Bargain!

I popped into TK Maxx today whilst in town as I was looking for some scented candles for the house and we had gotten a gorgeous smelling one out of there before. I always like to have a little look at the beauty stands while I'm there, it would be rude not to really! In the past I've found some Stila and NYX, so you can pick up some great bargains and today was no different.
Today I found......... Eyeko!

I have been looking on the Eyeko website the past couple of days as I have a voucher to spend and I had been eyeing up the fat balms and the liptastiks. Imagine my excitement when there they were, all packaged up sitting on the shelf, 3 fat balms and 3 liptastiks for £4.99 each! If I was to get all 6 off the Eyeko website it would have cost me £32.50. In TK Maxx they cost me £9.98!
Bargain of the week if you ask me!!

Top to bottom - Frosting, Strawberry, Cherry

I was wanting to get the frosting and strawberry fat balms so I am really looking forward to trying them out. The cherry is not normally a colour I would go for but I have seen a few swatches and it doesn't seem as scary on.

Left to right - Cherry, Frosting, Strawberry

I was going to get all 3 liptastiks so I cant wait to try these out! One thing I did notice was how creamy and pigmented they were when I was swatching them. Tempted to try one of these babies out at the weekend!

Top to bottom - Lip Lover, Loud Mouth, Hot Lips

Out of the 3 I think Loud Mouth is my favourite colour.

Left to right - Hot Lips, Lip Lover, Loud Mouth
Now I am not sure what to spend my voucher on!!

DIY Palettes

I have been meaning to do this post for absolutely ages!

I got the idea for these after reading a post that Makeup Savvy done away back in February which you can read here.
I had been lusting after a Z Palette but really couldn't justify paying the price for one so I thought this would be a great alternative! I have made mine slightly different from Fee's so if you want to see how I made it, then read on!!

Thing you need:

Bodyform tin
Sticky magnetic strips
Empty CD cases
Magnetic paper or a magnetic sheet
You will also need scissors and glue!

Bodyform give the tins away free with there products but I don't think they are available right now. I had a wee look on eBay though and you can pick them up for about £1.50ish. I got my magnetic strip from eBay as well for £1.25 and I picked up the magnetic paper from my local craft store.

On to the palettes!

To make the palette out of your bodyform tin there are 2 different ways to go about it. You can either cut the the magnetic strip into little squares and then stick them to the bottom of your eyeshadow pans or you can do what I went for and cut strips of magnet and then stick them in the tin.
I decided to do this cause it meant I would be able to use the same eyeshadow pans in the other palette that I made.

I used my Stila eyeshadow pans as a guide to where to stick the strips as they are the biggest pans that I had so I knew if they fitted in everything else would! There's also a little room at the bottom of the tin where I can place eyeshadows that already have a magnet stuck to them, like my MAC Wintersky eyeshadow.

This is going to be my handbag palette! Hopefully it will help reduce the space my make up takes up in my bag!

On to my "stay at home" palette :)

First you have to take the black bit out that would normally hold the CD.

Next you have to draw round the cover of the CD case onto your magnetic paper/sheet. You have to remember not to cover the entire base of your case with paper as when you shut the lid there will be a gap with no cover where you have taken the black bit out and your shadow might get damaged if you put them there. If you are using paper then you will need to glue the paper to the case, if it's a magnetic sheet you are using then stick it to the case.
It should end up looking like this!

And this is the finished palette!

Plenty of room for all you're favourite shadows!
I am going to make another one of these for me to put my blushes into as well.

So what do you think?
Let me know if you make anything like these and sent me a link, I would love to see them!

How Many Is Too Many.........?

.......... lip products to carry around??

I was catching up on my blogs this morning and after reading The 6 Inch Stilettos post about how many lip products she had in her bag I thought I would share with you what I have in my bag!

I seem to have ended up with quite a little stash in there!

So what have I got....
MAC Peachstock
Cherry Carmex
MUA Lipgloss Shade 3
NYX Lipstick Strawberry Milk
17 Mirror Shine Beehive
Mint Lypsyl
Mini Victoria Jackson Red Lipgloss
Sleek Pout Polish Lemon Meringue
Barry M 101

It's no wonder I can never find what I am looking for when I am doing my make up, it's all in my bag!

Out of all the lip products I carry around with me I would say I probably use Beehive the most, it is definitely one of my favourites. It is so easy to wear and goes with almost all looks.

So how many lip products do you have in your bag??
