NOTD - OPI Pedal Faster, Suzi

Pedal Faster, Suzi is from OPI's Holland collection and is a gorgeous pink with tiny specks of silver glitter through it.

Before applying this I thought I would be there for a while as it seemed quite a thin consistency. I was pleasantly surprised though when it only took 2 coats to get it to look like this. It could probably have done with another coat but I applied this in a hurry as I was going out and I thought it looked fine like this.

It was lovely having this on my nails as it made me feel nice and summery!

Project 10 Pan Update

So I am now into my 7th month of doing my project 10 pan and I can just about see the light at the end of the tunnel!

I have now finished off 9 products!!

Here are some of the latest products I have used up.

Stupidly I forgot to take a picture of 2 of the products I've used up. I have also used up the eyeshadow from my Sleek Bohemian palette from my last P10P post and my E.L.F Studio Complexion Perfection.

I am most pleased about using up my Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. I have never used up a foundation before and I really loved using this one and while definitely buy it again once this is over.

So the race is on to use up another product as I am dying to get some new make up and try out some new products!

What products would you suggest I try when I have finally finished my Project 10 Pan?

OPI Nicki Minaj Minis Collection

My OPI range seems to be growing over the past few weeks! I recently showed you some swatches of OPI's Save Me and Metallic 4 Life which you can see here!

Today I want to show you one of their latest mini collections, a collaboration with Nicki Minaj

I personally think that these mini collections are great, I don't know about you but I have never finished a bottle of nail polish so maybe with these I might actually get through one!

There are 4 colours included in the mini collection and are inspired by Nicki Minaj's love of colour.

From top to bottom

Pink Friday -  a gorgeous bubblegum pink

Did It On Em - a creamy lime green

Fly - a stunning blue

Metallic 4 Life - a black base with micro and hexagonal glitter

The only one in the collection that I am a little unsure about is Did It On Em as it is such an unusual colour. I think I might get some use out of it in the summer though.

You can also get a lovely purple shatter top coat called Super Bass, which compliments all the colours in the collection!

Have you tried any of the Nicki Minaj collection?

Review - Primark Velcro Rollers

I have unbelievably flat hair and up until recently it never really bothered me.
Now though all I want is volume!
I blogged the other week about some velcro rollers that I picked up in Primark (find it here) and wanted to review them for you.
First I'm going to show you how I used them and then I will tell you what I think of them!

I started off with wet hair and then towel dried it and put some OSIS+ Body Me in it to get a little extra volume. I then turned my head upside down and blasted it till it was about 90% dry and looked like this!

I then applied my rollers, 2 on top, 3 each side and 2 at the back. I haven't ever used velcro rollers before so this took me quite a bit of time. Once I got the hang of it though I was fine!

After the rollers were in I pottered about the house till my hair had dried completely. Then I carefully took each roller out and applied some hairspray for a bit of hold.

Here is the finished look!

I was so pleased with how my hair ended up.

They really made the layers in my hair stand out and gave it lots of movement and volume!

After I got the hang of using these they were so easy to put in. I think my problem was that I was trying to wrap too much hair around the rollers.

I was a little worried that they might not hold in my hair very well as they were cheap but I had no problems at all with them holding my hair. Once they were in they felt very secure and didn't budge as I tidied up the house.

I had no problems when I was taking them out. They didn't pull my hair and they came out very easily.

They come in packs of 8 and I bought 2 packs but I think I might pick up another couple so that I can do all my hair with them.

I am so pleased with these!
For the price I think they are brilliant and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for some velcro rollers!

NOTD - Eyeko Nude and Chi Chi

I have worn these two polishes together before (HERE) but this time I thought I would do a different look with them.

The last time I applied the Nude polish it wasn't too big a deal that it was a little opaque as I was applying Chi Chi over the top of it so you wouldn't be able to notice it. This time though it was a nightmare to apply! It took about 5 coats to get it to look like this and you can still see through it slightly.

I do really like these two polishes together but the opaqueness of the nude polish just puts me off using it again.

One good thing about these polishes though is that they haven't chipped at all, which is really rare for me!

Both of these polishes have now been discontinued by Eyeko but there are hundreds of similar polishes out there if you want to give this a go!

Denman D3 Kiss Brush

For Valentine's Day this year Denman's famous D3 classic styling brush has been given a bit of a make over and now comes covered in some luscious lips!

It is available in 3 colours -black with red lips (which I have), pink with silver lips and red with black lips.

It comes with the same anti-static rubber pad as the original which is great for my hair right now. These cold temperatures and constantly having the heating on has made my hair ridiculously frizzy and full of static so rather than add to the problem with my other brushes I have been reaching for this!

It is extremely comfortable to use and glides through any tangles I have in my hair with no problems.

I can be a bit funny sometimes when it comes to doing my hair. I hate it if I put my hair up in a ponytail and there are bumps in it but with this there were no problems.

I have never used any Denman brushes before but after trying this one out I will definitely be trying out some more! I really like the look of the Squargonomics Square Ceramic Barrel Bristle brush, it looks like it might help in my quest for some volume!

The D3 Kiss Brushes are limited addition so if you want one make sure you get in there quick!

Primark Haul

I was in Primark the other day, as my boyfriend needed some new work jeans, and I thought I would have a wee look round while I was there.
There are so many nice things in there right now! I could have spent a fortune. If only I had the money!
Instead I got a couple of thing that I thought I would share with you today!

I love having a big bag but this means that it turns into a big of a black hole. Once things go into it I can never find them again and spend ages rummaging around for what I am looking for, so when I saw this handbag organiser I knew I had to try it out. It will hopefully make my life a little easier when I am trying to find something in my bag and it might allow me to change the bag that I am using more easily and often! This cost me £3.
I also picked up Coca Cola and Sprite lip smaker lip balms. I have fallen in love with these drinks flavoured ones recently. I only tried them just before Christmas but since then I have picked up every one that they do! They are so moisturising and I love the flavours they come in.

In my hunt for volume I have been wanting a set of velcro rollers but I just can't afford them at the minute but when browsing the hair bands and baubles I noticed these little beauties! £1.50 for 8 rollers? Yes please! I picked up 2 packets of these and I can't wait to try them out!

I also got this gorgeous purple ring for £2. I actually already have this ring as my boyfriends mum got me it for Christmas but it's too wee so I'll never be able to wear it. So when I saw it in Primark the other day I picked one up in a bigger size as I love it and was gutted when I couldn't wear it.

My favourite thing I got has to be the rollers and I can't wait to try them out!

Have you got any bargains recently?

OPI Save Me & Metallic 4 Life and Buyapowa

Look what the postman brought!!

Recently BuyaPowa had Save Me and Metallic 4 Life from OPI's new Nicki Minaj collection on their site for as little as £12 + £1.50.
I have been wanting to try more OPI polishes so when I saw this deal I snapped it up!

My favourite out of the two is Save Me as I love the holographic bar glitter that is in it. It was a lot more opaque than I thought it would be. The pictures above are two coats of each polish. I think I would need 3 coats to make Save Me completely opaque but I think that is pretty impressive for a glitter polish as most can be quite watery. These both needed a top coat over them as the glitter in them is very grainy and makes my nails feel really rough.

These arrived really quickly, only taking a day to arrive after they had been dispatched and were extremely well packaged. One thing I did notice was that the postage mark on the box stated that the postage had actually been more than the £1.50 I had paid!
I have seen quite a lot of bloggers who have been using  Buyapowa recently and I am really impressed with the site.
What with the great items, cheap postage and fast delivery, I will definitely be using them again!

Project Bathroom Update!

Do you ever find that you reach a point when you never seem to finish up products? Well that's what is happening to me right now! My last Project Bathroom post was way back in October!
I have managed to finish a few products recently though.

Pantene Colour & Protect Shampoo and Conditioner - I love this shampoo and conditioner! I started using these after trying out Pantene's Smooth and Sleek range (reviewed here). When I got my hair dyed I wanted something specifically for coloured hair so I thought I would try them out and I am so glad I did! Using them has really helped retain the colour in my hair and they really help with making my hair knot free!
Would I repurchase? - I already have!

Pantene Colour Seal Concentrate -  I got this when I bought the shampoo and conditioner as I wanted to get a treatment for my hair to try hold the colour a little longer. I can't say I noticed a huge difference from when I used this to when I didn't but it did make my hair unbelievably soft!
Would I repurchase? - Probably not.

Superdrug Essential Toner - I picked this up in Superdrug as I was looking for a cheap toner to use. I can't remember how much this was and I have looked on the Superdrug website but I can't see it on it. Hopefully that means they've not stopped selling it! I have a feeling that it was around 99p though. I loved the smell of this toner, it reminded me of something and every time I used it I tried to remember what it was but I could never put my finger on it. As a toner, it did it's job, there were no complaints!
Would I repurchase? - Yes if they still do it!

Naked Colour Sunflower and Cinnamon Protecting Shampoo - I hated this! I just couldn't get it to work with my hair. I like my bubbles too much! I had to use loads of it to get my hair feeling clean so it hardly lasted me and I hated the smell of it!
Would I repurchase - No

Face Wipes - The top 2 packets of  wipes I only used for removing make up off the back of my hand. The bottom packet though I did use for taking off my make up. There's not much to say about them really though, they did their job and removed my make up!
Would I repurchase? - I think it's safe to say wipes will always be in my cupboard!

I also used up a shower gel but I can't for the life of me remember who it was by but it was a lovely shower gel and smelled amazing!

So that's all my products for now. Hopefully I will start seeing more empties soon!

Send me your links if you are doing something similar!

Escada Sexy Graffiti 2011

I love Escada perfumes!
I have bought their summer fragrances for years but as they're only limited edition, once they are finished I can't replace them without paying ridiculous prices off eBay and only one fragrance is released each year. So when I was walking through Duty Free the other night (I was coming home from a trip to see my Mum) and noticed a stand with 3 different Escada fragrances on it I could hardly contain myself!

After smelling them all loads I decided to get Sexy Graffiti as I was told I wasn't allowed to buy all 3.

It's has top notes of red berries, middle notes of lily of the valley and violet and bottom notes of cashmere wood and soft vanilla.
Apparently!
All I know is that it smells A.MAZ.ING!
One thing I love about Escada perfumes is how sweet they smell and this one is no exception. They also last really well and I can still smell them hours after I have applied them in the morning.

You also get a wee charm free with it. Sexy Graffiti has a cute little cocktail glass charm!

When I got home I had a quick search to see when these perfumes had been released and I couldn't find out too much information but it seems that the 3 fragrances have been re-released to celebrate the best of 20 years of their summer fragrances.

Image taken from here

Sexy Graffiti was originally released in 2002, Island Kiss in 2004 and Rockin' Rio in 2005.

The only place I have been able to find these is at the airport. I can't find anywhere on-line that sells them so if you know where I can get the others please let me know!! Hopefully next time I go to visit my Mum they will still have them so I can stock up!

NOTD - No7 Poolside Blue and OPI Last Friday Night

On my nails this week I have been wear No7's Poolside Blue and OPI's Last Friday Night (from the Katy Perry collection) on my ring finger.
Poolside Blue is so opaque, I only need one coat of the polish and it dries really quickly. Last Friday Night just gives it that little extra sparkle!

How To Recreate Hairstyles From Dancing On Ice

Catchy title eh!!

Dancing on Ice is by far one of my favourite programs on the TV and I can't wait till it is on every year. Something that I love about the show is all the gorgeous costumes, hairstyles and make up looks of the girls that are on the show. What can I say, I'm a sucker for some glitter!
Normally my hair is always pretty boring, I either leave it straight or pull it back in pony. Not very adventurous! For going out today though I thought I would try something a little bit different and make an effort with the styling of my hair by recreating the style Chemmy Alcott wore on Sunday.

Here's what I used to do it!

First I washed my hair and then applied some OSIS+ Body Me all through my hair. A great thing about this product is that it helps to protect your hair from heat as well as give it some added volume.

Next I blasted my hair dry. Once it was about 50% dry I turned my head upside down to get a little extra volume while I was drying it.

Once it was completely dry I split it into 3 sections so that I could curl it.

I set my straighteners to 170 degrees and then took, roughly 1 inch sections of hair and curled them until the whole of my head was done.

I then ran me fingers through my hair separating the curls and gave my head a good spray of OSIS+ Elastic spray. I also applied a little OSIS+ Magic to the ends of my hair.

And here's the finished look!

After recreating Chemmy's hairstyle that she wore on Sunday I thought I would give it a go at recreating Jorgie Porter's hairstyle as my hair was already curled and I loved the look she wore.
Mine has turned out slightly different but I am pleased with the end result!

Here's what I did!

I pulled my hair back into a ponytail and secured it with a clear elastic band, pulling a few strands of hair out from around my face .

Then I flipped my head upside down and took a couple of sections of hair from the left and right side of my ponytail and gripped them in place on my head with some kirbys. This just created a bit of volume and covers the band once I have flipped my hair back.

I couldn't decide wither or not to leave my fringe how it was or to pin it back. I tried out a messy braid but I think I prefer it just left how it is.

I then gave it a quick spray with my Elastic spray and it was pretty much done!

My style isn't quite as messy as Jorgie's and my ponytail is a lot longer than the one she had on Sunday. I still think it looks great though! Both these looks were so easy to do and I think they both look great!

xx

*I was sent the Osis products to do these looks

Project 10 Pan Update

Even thought I've not been blogging much recently, I have been keeping up with my P10P so I thought I would give you a little update to how I am doing. I was looking back through my posts the other day and discovered that I started my P10P way back in August last year!! I am so proud of myself for sticking to it and not buying any new make up.
So on to how I have been getting on......

Yay!! I've managed to finish 4 products!!
I am so pleased with finishing these products as I normally never finish any make up items! It is so satisfying when you get to the end of a product.

These are the products that should be used up within the next couple of weeks.

I use all these products nearly everyday so hopefully they wont take me too long to finish up. I think the eyeshadow will definitely be the first to go!

Is anyone else doing a Project 10 Pan?? If you are send me your links, I love these kind of posts!!

xx
