NOTD - NYX Rainbow Sparkle

I thought I would put something a little bright on my nails to try cheer myself up seen as we're now well on the way to it being winter!

As you can see the colour on my nails has come out slightly darker than the shade in the bottle and it's not very opaque. I think the next time I wear this shade I will put a white coat of polish on first and then apply rainbow sparkle.
I love it though, it brightens up my day when I look down and see it!

Every Day FOTD

Just a quick post today to show you a look that I wore the other day!

I don't tend wear make up every day but when I do I will normally stick to the same kind of look unless it's for a night out.

And this is normally what I go for......

I am pretty boring when it comes to my make up, I always play it safe and go for browns and a nude lip. I would love to be more adventurous but I'm a big chicken!

Project 10 Pan Update

So hopefully you will have already read my Project Bathroom Update, but if not you can read it here! This post is going to be my Project 10 Pan update (as the title suggests!)

I am doing much better than I thought I would be! I've hit pan on 4 products and my mascara is getting to the end of it's little life!

So what have I hit pan on.....
E.L.F Complexion Perfection
17 Plum Puff Blusher
Prestige iQuad
Almay Line Smoothing Powder

I am counting the colours in my Prestige iQuad as 4 seperate colours as I don't really use the 2 purples in it. Hopefully the blusher will be the first to go, I have had it for years so it will be good to finally finish it off!

I am determined to complete this P10P, I have never finished a make up item so it will feel so good when I finally do!

If you are doing a P10P send me your links and I hope you are doing well!!

Project Bathroom Update!

Firstly sorry for the lack of posts recently and thank you for sticking with me!

Even though I've not been posting, I have been keeping up with my Project Bathroom and P10P and I am pleased to say I haven't slipped up once!! I have been so tempted to go out and buy some of the new lovely make up that is about just now but I have been strong and resisted.

I will do a separate P10P update but I thought I would share with you what I have used up from my Project Bathroom so far!

Primark Beauty Wipes - These are great for the price, you get 2 pack of 25 wipes for £1! I didn't actually use these for taking off my make up though, I used these more for wiping off all the make up I end up with on the back of my hand when I am putting my make up on. They can be a little bit scratchy when I use them to take my make up off which is why I tend not to.
Would I repurchase? - Yes

Batiste Brit - This is definitely one of my favourites from the Batiste range! I love, love, love the smell of it!! If they brought out a perfume of this I would be first in line to get it! There's not much I can say really about the dry shampoo bit of it. It works well and is a stable on my dressing table!
Would I repurchase? - Definitely!

Lush Snow Fairy - Oh My God!! This is the first time I had ever tried anything from the Snow Fairy range and I LOVE it. This has gone straight to the top of my Christmas wish list. It is such a gorgeous sweet smell with lots of gorgeous glitter in it as well. Even my boyfriend would comment on how good I smelled after I had used this in the shower, so it must be good!!
Would I repurchase? - A big fat YES!!

Lush Happy Hippy - I got this in a set for my birthday last year and when I got it I was a little unsure about it, it's not a smell I would normally go for. It's made from grapefruit and has a very refreshing smell to it, where as I would normally go for flowery, sweet smells. I am really glad I gave this a go though. It made such a nice change to the shower gels I would normally use and was really good for waking me up in the mornings!
Would I repurchase? - Yes

FCUK Pure Bodywash - I really didn't like the smell of this bodywash. The smell, luckily for me, didn't last very long on my skin either. Safe to say, I was glad when this was all gone!
Would I repurchase? - No

Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion - This is a bit of a Meh! product for me, it was neither amazing or rubbish. It did what it was supposed to but it wasn't anything special. This bottle did last me forever though which is a good thing.
Would I repurchase? - Probably not, there's too many other cleansers I want to try!

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub - I hated this product! I don't know about you but if I don't use a scrub on my face my skin starts to all build up and look really horrible and flacky even though it is actually really greasy (mmmm attractive!!). I only use a scrub every other day though as I don't want to scrub away all those good oils that my skin needs. This scrub however did absolutly nothing for me!! The little scrubby bead bits in this are just too wee for me. I couldn't feel anything at all when I put this on my skin and I had to use an exfoliating sponge to get it to work
Would I repurchase? - No

Sanex Dermo-Protector Shower Gel - I actually used this as a bubble bath after a long hard day when I just wanted to relax! So I can't really give you my opinion of this as a shower gel but it did make a good bubble bath. Obviously there was no where near as many bubbles as you would get with an actually bubble bath but it was a lovely relaxing bath!
Would I repurchase? - Yes I probably would but use it for what it's meant for!!

Superdrug Self Heating Smootie Mask - This mask smells amazing! If you love fruity, sweet smell then you will love this. I loved that it was self heating, it was nice and warm but not too warm (does that make sense?!) After using this my skin did feel very soft and had a little bit of a glow about it.
Would I repurchase? - Yes

Quickies Nail Polish Remover Pads - These are great for taking with you if you are going on holiday or a weekend away. Something I don't like about them though is the greasy/oily feel that they leave on your nails and fingers after you use them. If you're anything like me then you'll need to be careful when you use them not to get it everywhere!
Would I repurchase? - Yes

Pantene Pro V Smooth and Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner - I really like this shampoo and conditioner! I have written a review on them here if you want to have a wee read!
Would I repurchase? - Yes

Sure Clear Pure Deodorant x2 - I have been using this deodorant for years! There's not much to say about it really, it smells nice and it works! What more can you want!
Would I repurchase? - Yes

Batiste Original - This is my least favourite from the Batiste range. It does what it's supposed to but the smell isn't very nice. There are much nicer scents available but it it worked when I had nothing else!
Would I repurchase? - Only if it was the only one available

So that's everything I have used up so far! I am pretty pleased with the stuff I've gotten through so far and it's so satisfying finishing up products!

Are you doing a Project Bathroom? If you are send me your links!

Project Bathroom and Project 10 Pan Take 2!

I have decided to put myself on a spending/shopping ban! I have so much stuff that I don't use and is just sitting in my room so I am going to start using it up! I have attempted Project Bathroom before and I didn't too bad with it but I was rubbish when it came to P10P. Hopefully this time I will do a bit better!

Image from Google
So I wont be buying any make up until I have finished up at least 10 products, which I think is going to be hard as I have NEVER finished a product before. I will give it my best shot though!

When it comes to toiletries I am going to be a little less strict. I will buy new products but only when I have used up all the other products I have in that category. So when I run out of toner and I don't have a back up I will buy a new one or if I finish my dry shampoo I'll get another one, that kind of thing.

I have no idea how long this ban is going to last but I am determined to finish it this time!!
I am going to do monthly posts to keep you all up to date with how I am getting on. I have a lot of things nearly finished so hopefully I will have a few empties to show you at the end of the month.

Wish me luck!!

NOTD - Models Own Coral Reef

Yesterday I was having a little rummage through my nail polish collection and found a whole load of nail polished that have been a little unloved recently!
So to rectify this I thought I would do some NOTDs for you all!
I haven't done many NOTD posts recently so it will be good trying out all the old polishes that I have forgotten about.

So today I am sporting Models Own Coral Reef!
It's a gorgeous, summery redy/coral colour.
It is quite opaque and it dried really quickly which I love!! Think I will definitely need to try out some more models own colours!
What ones would you suggest??

Review - Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream with SPF15

When I first tried Trilogy's Vital Moisturising Cream out I was a little unsure about it. I hate being able to feel creams on my skin and this moisturiser is quite thick. When I applied it, it took about 20-30 minutes for it to soak into my skin and for me to feel comfortable that I didn't have any cream on my face.
Not really what I want in a moisturiser!
I have combination skin and it made my t-zone quite oily. It would probably be best suited to someone with dry skin.

I thought I would give it another go though and I tried it again. This time after I applied it, I applied my make up on top of it straight away as I was heading out.
As a make up base I found that this moisturiser is amazing!
Applying my foundation on top of the moisturiser made it look great. It went on really smoothly and gave a really flawless finish!

Another thing I really like about the moisturiser is that it contains an SPF of 15 which is something my foundation doesn't have.

Before applying I do need to give it a good shake as the moisturiser can sometimes separate and it just water that comes out. As long as I remember to shake it though it is fine.

So overall I really like Trilogy's Vital Moisturising Cream. I wont be using it as a stand alone moisturiser but I will definitely be using it under my make up!

*This product was given to me as a PR sample but this has not influenced my thought on the product*

ELF 50% Off Haul (Pic Heavy)

Last Saturday, just as me and my boyfriend were heading out for the day to watch the British Super bikes, a post van pulled up outside the house with a big box of goodies that I had ordered off the E.L.F website!
As you will all probably know they held a 50% off sale recently and I tried to resist but it was just too tempting!

My order came to £22.95 including postage which means the contents was worth £40!!

So this is what I ordered........

2 Blending brushes from the basic range
An angled eyeliner brush
A stippling brush

Night to day brightening eye colour
Natural radiance blusher in Glow
Tone correcting concealer in Light Beige

Studio cream eyeliner in Black
Studio conditioning lip balm in Peaceful Pink
Studio under eye concealer and highlighter in Glow/Light
Studio matte lip colour in Natural

Nail polishes in Nude, Champagne and Fluorescent Pink

Studio mist and set
Eyelid primer collection

The only thing I am disappointed in is the nail polish in Champagne as it look NOTHING like the colour that they have in the website. On the website it looks like a light peach colour but in real life it is more of a muddy brown colour.

Here are some swatches of the things that I got!

Top - Conditioning lip balm in Peaceful Pink
Bottom - Matte lip colour in Natural

Tone correcting concealer in Light Beige

Natural radiance blusher in Glow

Natural radiance blusher in Glow blended out
Studio under eye concealer and highlighter in Glow/Light

Studio under eye concealer and highlighter in Glow/Light blended out

Night to day brightening eye colour

Eyelid primer collection - Nude, Pearl, Champagne

Studio cream eyeliner in Black
Nail polish - Nude, Champagne, Fluorescent Pink

So I am currently trying all these items out so that I can do some reviews for you all!
What would you like to see reviewed first??

NOTD - Eyeko Nude and Chi Chi Polish

Today's NOTD is courtesy of Eyeko!

This is 2 coats of their Nude Polish and then 2 coats of their Chi Chi polish. It did take quite a while to do but I think it looks great!

This is the first time I have tried Eyeko's polishes and they are not too bad! They apply really well but I felt it took about 5 minutes for each coat to fully dry.
This isn't going to put me off though as I really like them, I also have their Rain and Cosmic Polishes to try as well!

Review - Pantene Smooth and Sleek

About a month ago I was luck enough to win a twitter giveaway held by Pantene, the prizes were miniatures of their Smooth and Sleek shampoo and conditioner.

The shampoo and conditioner arrived a couple of days later and it was perfect timing as my shampoo had just run out!

I have been using them both for about 3 weeks now and I thought I would do a little review for you guys!

When I first got the Smooth and Sleek shampoo and conditioner I was a little weary about using them as I have a very sensitive scalp and a lot of products make it really itchy and I can't use them. I decided to use them anyway as I had no other shampoo and hoped Pantene would be one of the brands that wouldn't effect my scalp. Unfortunately they are not. Well to start out with they weren't anyway. Now that I have been using the shampoo and conditioner for about 3 weeks my head seems to have built up a tolerance or something to them and the itching has disappeared.
YAY!

Even with the itching I loved these products!
They smell amazing! They have a really nice fruity smell to them and even the boyfriend commented on how nice my hair smelled!
My hair had been in pretty bad condition, I had had it coloured for the first time and it had really dried out the ends. They were all frizzy, splitting and breaking off.
Not what you want really!
After using the Smooth and Sleek shampoo and conditioner though I have really noticed a difference in my hair's condition. My ends are pretty much back to normal and I have also noticed that there are a lot less naughts in my hair when I brush it.

Overall I love I am loving the Smooth and Sleek shampoo and conditioner. It's sorted out my frizzy ends, taken away the horrible naughts in my hair and made it smell amazing!
What more could you ask for!

Gel Polish NOTD

Some of you might know that I have recently moved from Glasgow down to Kent. I moved about 4 months ago and I haven't had the chance to get back for a visit so seen as it was my Mum's birthday last weekend I thought it was the perfect excuse!

I had taken a set of fake nails with me to put on for going out but my Mum suggest that I try a gel manicure as she had gotten one a couple of weeks before and she loved it!

I decided to go for a hot pink polish with a glitter coat on top!
What you think.......

They have lasted not too bad. I took them off today and I was a little disappointed seen as they should have lasted another week. I think it was more to do with the woman that but them on, rather than the polish.
I would definitely try these again.
They would be excellent for going on holiday.

Have you tried them?

Some of my favourite brown eyeshadows!

I am not the most adventurous when it comes to doing my make up really. I tend to stick to the same eye colours.... browns!!
I have managed to build up quite a collection of different brown eyeshadows.

Browns are just such and easy colour to wear, I think. I don't have to make too much effort and my eyeshadow looks great.
I do try to do different looks and colours but I always go back to my old faithful browns!

Here are some of my favs!

Left to right -
MUA Shade 17, MUA Eye Dust Shade 5,
ELF Butternut (it is the one on the top right hand corner)
MAC Paints Untitled

The 2 MUA products are my current go to shadows, I use them all the time. I put shade 17 all over my lid and then blend the eye dust into the crease. It creates a really natural everyday look.
I think for the price that MUA are great products!
Over my UDPP they both last all day without creasing and look just as great when I go to take them off as they do when I put them on.

Do you have a favourite colour for your eyes??

My Lipstick Collection and Swatches

Today I thought I would share with you my ever growing collection of lipsticks!

I do have a couple others that I seem to have lost!
Up until about a year ago I was very much a lipgloss girl and thought that lipsticks were for old ladies and owned none. What a difference a year can make! I now have some what of a lipstick obsession. I do still wear my lipglosses now and again but I am now a convert lipstick lover!

The Pinks!
Left to right -
NYX Femme, NYX Jupiter NYX Strawberry Milk, Barry M 100, Rimmel Pink Blush, MUA Shade 4, MAC Viva Glam, MAC Victorian

The Nudes!

Left to right -
Natural Collection Lotus, Natural Collection Apple Blossom, NYX Orange Soda, MAC The Fairie Glen, MAC Peachstock, Barry M 101

And the rest!
Left to right -
Stila Tina, 17 Belle, 17 Cookie, Revlon Plum, NYX Margarita

I also have 17 Beehive which is probably my most used lipstick. I seems to have been swallowed up by the pit that is my bag though!

I have a funny feeling that my little collection will just keep growing and growing!

What are you favourite lipsticks??

I'd Like Some Mint Choc Chip and a Little Parma Violet Please!! NOTD

What with all this good weather we've been having I thought I would have a wee look through my nail polish collection and find something fitting!
This is what I came up with......

I love these colours and I think they go great together!
I have had the polish on for 24 hours now and there has been absolutely no tip wear at all.
I love 17 nail polishes, I think you get great colour pay off and the price is great!

Review - Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Anti-Stress Mud Masque

I had the house to myself the other day so I thought I would take advantage of this and have a little pampering session.
After a lovely long hot shower I decided to try out this bad boy!!

(Picture taken from Montagne Jeunesse website)

This mask is designed to help cleanse the skin, open the pores and draw out impurities. It has a fragrance of lavender, sweet seaweed and dead sea minerals.

The first thing I thought when I applied the mask to my face was "where do I know that smell from???" and then it hit me! To me it smells like men's Gillette shaving gel. Not really a smell I wanted on my face but I was willing to give it a try.

The mask took about 20 minutes to dry and was easy enough to take it off. After taking it off though I noticed that my face felt quite warm and when I looked in the mirror it looked like I had been slapped or had a really bad case of sunburn!
I didn't notice any change in my skin either (apart from it looking like a tomato).

Overall I wasn't impressed with this mask and I wont be buying it again but it hasn't put me off Montagne Jeunesse as some of their other face masks are great!

NYX Swatches

After posting about my NYX find the other day a few of you asked me for some swatches,
so here they are!

First up......

Blushes:

Top: Natural
Bottom: Mocha

Both of these are so pigmented! A little definitely goes a long way with these.
They both blended out really well.

Blushes blended out slightly.

Eyeshadows:

Top: Violet
Middle: Flamenco
Bottom: Pretty Pink

This is quite a heavy swatch of Pretty Pink but it comes out slightly darker than it looks in the pan. The eyeshadow lasted really well and hardly creased while I was wearing them and that was without a primer!

Flamenco is such a gorgeous colour,
it has a gold going through it so it looks amazing when the light hits it

Lipglosses and Lip Pencil:

Left to right - Lip pencil in Mauve, Lipgloss in Whipped, Lipgloss in Strawberry

I LOVE whipped!! It is such a gorgeous nude gloss, I have been wearing it nearly everyday since I got it. It lasts well on the lips as well.

Lipsticks:

Top: Margaritta
Bottom: Femme

Femme

Both these lipsticks go on really smoothly and haven't dried my lips out at all.

Margaritta

After trying out the products I will definitely be going back to purchase some more! I would love to try some more of the creme blushes and lipsticks. They had some of the jumbo pencils in the shop but they weren't in colours I really fancied, tempted to try them though as all the things I already have are so good!
