Review - Asda Dry Shampoo

I have been using dry shampoo for as long as I can remember. There has been many an occasion when it has come to my rescue and saved me from a hair disaster. I remember a time when the only dry shampoo that was available was the original Batiste. Nowadays however, there are loads of options on the market and today I am trying out Asda's offering!
The first thing that I noticed when trying this out was how nice it smells. It is a really fresh, fruity smell and leaves my hair smelling great. You apply this like the majority of dry shampoos, spray it on your roots, give it a rub and then style.
I really like this dry shampoo, it does exactly what it should do and gives me another day without having to wash my hair. It adds a nice amount of volume to my hair and doesn't leave any horrible white chalky powder either.
One of my favourite thing about this dry shampoo though is the price, at only £1 it is a bargain and I will definitely be popping it in my basket next time I am in store!

Review - W7 Hair Chalks

When I was offered the chance to try out the W7 hair chalks* I jumped at the chance! I have always been not very adventurous with my hair. I have always wanted to dye it some crazy colour but unfortunately my work is boring and you are only allowed natural hair colours. So the W7 hair chalks seemed like the perfect solution to my problem though!
I was sent the colours Peach Red and Purple to try out.

The chalks were very easy to use, you simple take the section of hair you want to colour place it on the chalk and squeeze as you pull it down the length of your hair. Once I had done that I sprayed some hairspray on the sections to seal in the chalk. I did find that it pulled on my hair slightly though and could be a wee bit sore.
The very name, hair chalks, suggests that this is going to be a messy product to apply so I would definitely recommend applying them over a sink or bath and to cover up any white/light coloured clothing you might be wearing. The style of clip applicator definitely kept the mess to a minimum though and made them very easy to apply.
I was surprised at how well the colours showed up on my hair as I thought they would only really work on lighter or blonde hair. Both colours were easily noticeable and quite bright in my hair.
Both colours lasted well too, the purple faded slightly faster than the peach red and I had lovely pink bubbles when I washed them out of my hair the next day!

Overall I really like the W7 hair chalks. They are a fun, cheap way to brighten up and change your hair ready for the summer!

Review - Trilogy Everything Balm

With the weather changing for the worse, the heating now needing to being on and the constant threat of getting a cold, Trilogy Everything Balm is my lifesaver! It is a solid balm that turns into an oil when you warm it in your hand and it can be used in so many ways! I mainly use it at night before I go to bed. I apply it to my legs, any dry patches of skin and on my lips and when I wake up in the morning I am all lovely and soft. I have been loaded with a cold the past few days so I have also been using this round my nose at night to stop any dry skin from all my nose blowing! You can also use it as a massage oil, on your cuticles, cracked heels, on sunburn and on any split ends to smooth them out, to name but a few! You only need a tiny bit of balm at a time so I think my tub may possibly last me forever!! Trilogy Everything Balm is a great all round product and is definitely a must have for winter!!

Review - Elegant Touch Pre Glued French Manicure Nails

I had never tried pre glued nails before as I was always a wee bit sceptical that they wouldn't stick on very well, but when I tried the Elegant Touch Make Me Blush nails I was pleasantly surprised! In the box you get 24 nails in 10 different sizes, a buffer and instructions. These were so easy to stick on, you simply press the fake nail on to the real nail and hold for couple seconds. Easy! Finding the right sized nail for each finger was a wee bit tricky though as it was very easy to stick the nails down accidentally, but any time I did they came off easily. The length of the nails was great as well, I was a little unsure at first as they were extra short, but they were perfect for everyday and didn't get in the way. The only other problem I had with the nails was that any time I ran my fingers through my hair, as the nails weren't completely flat against my real nails, they got caught in the glue on the nails. It just meant I had to stop fidgeting with my hair though which is never a bad thing! These nails last about 2 days, which I didn't think was too bad seen as they really got put to the test at work and I unfortunately had lots of dishes to do at home. These would be perfect for a night out, they are so fast and simple to put on and the colour is really natural! They were very easy to take off and left no damage to my nails. Next time I have a special occasion or night out coming up I will definitely be considering trying out some more pre glued nails!!

Review - Smooch Inferno

When I first received Smooch's Inferno I was a little bit scared. I am not one for bright coloured lipsticks. I have always been a nude lips girl, through and through, so the thought of wearing an orange lipstick scared me slightly. But I thought I would give it a go, I have been wanting to become more adventurous and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to do it!
I am so glad I did!
I loved the way Inferno looked on, it is slightly more subtle on the lips than I thought it would be which made it really wearable. It is perfect for a daytime look but you can also layer it up and would be a great for a night out. Inferno applies really well, it glides on and didn't dry my lips out at all. The colour also lasted really well which I was really pleased with. Another thing about this brand that I love is the packaging, how cute is it!?! Anything with lace on it is a winner in my eyes!

Inferno is available here for £7.50. They also have an offer on where if you buy one lipstick you get another one half price! What better reason do you need to get a new lippie!

W7 Lash & Line Super Nova

I was offered the chance to try out W7's new Lash & Line and I have to admit I was a little intrigued! Lash & Line is a product that you can use to line your lashes as well as using it as a mascara. Before it arrived I couldn't figure out what it was going to look like but once I received it my curiosity was satisfied!
It has a regular plastic mascara wand but at the end of it is a thin little brush that is for lining you lashes! I love products that have more than one purpose and Lash & Line is no different! When using it as a mascara you get a nice even coating of glitter over your lashes which is perfect for a night out. As a liner you get a nice opaque line filled with glitter which could easily be worn during the day to add a little sparkle to your make up. It was a little tricky when applying the mascara at first not to get the liner part all over my cheek but with a little practice I got much better at it.
The one that I have tried out is Super Nova, a silver glitter, but it will be available in 6 different shades so there's plenty to try out! They will be available to buy from Xtras soon!

Nspa Peach Body Butter

As soon as I smelled this body butter I had to have it! Think Haribo peach sweets and you will know exactly what it smells like! So if you're not a fan of super sweet smells then this may not be for you, but if you are anything like me then you will love it!
Apart from smelling amazing this body butter is super nourishing. I apply it after my shower and it leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft and every now and again I got the faint whiff of peaches. It melts into the skin really well and doesn't leave me feeling sticky.
This is the first nspa body butter that I have tried but it is safe to say that after using this one I will definitely be trying some more!
These are currently £3 each or 2 for £4 in Asda

Dainty Doll - You Are My Sunshine Blusher

I got this blusher a couple of months ago off the Fragrance Direct website at the bargain price of only £1.99 and it fast became a firm favourite in my everyday make up routine. The colour is a gorgeous peachy shade with a golden shimmer running through it and I feel it would suit most skin tones. The colour is very build-able so perfect for during the day but add a little more and is great for a night out! One thing that did impress me about this blush is how long it lasts, I can put it on first thing in the morning and still remove the exact same amount at night when I take my make up off. The gold in it does transfer quite easily though but this doesn't take anything away from the base colour.

The product is super dense and I get absolutely no fall out at all when using it which makes it even better value for money as it is going to last me a very long time! The packaging is also very classic and sturdy, it has a good sized mirror inside so great for taking in your make up bag. Overall I think this is a great product and I love it! I will definitely be getting some of the other colours in the range if they are still available once my Project 10 Pan is over!

Amie Petal Perfect 2 in 1 Cleanser & Toner

I have been using the Amie Petal Perfect 2 in 1 Cleanser and Toner for a few weeks now and I am really pleased with it. It works great at removing all traces of my make up and leaves my skin feeling lovely and clean. I also think it has a lovely fresh, clean smell to it.
It is packed with natural ingredients such as French rose petal, orange blossom, witch hazel, raspberry and apple. It is also alcohol and oil free so it is great for your skin!
Being a 2 in 1 cleanser and toner means that it makes my skincare routine that little bit quicker as I can miss out my usual toner step. I did find that the formula was a little bit runny and I would have liked it to be a tiny bit thicker.
Apart from that though I think this is a great product!

W7 Go West Lipstick in Pink Tease

Pink Tease* is a gorgeous rose toned pink lipstick from W7's Go West collection, which I have been loving the past week! The formula is really creamy and applies so easily leaving a matte finish that doesn't dry my lips at all. The colour is really build-able so it is perfect for everyday and then you can layer it up for a more night time look.
The packaging is very sleek looking, plain black with bright pink writing and a swatch of colour on the bottom. One thing I did find though was that the swatch on the bottom didn't really match the colour of the lipstick inside, it was slightly lighter than the lipstick was in real life.
Overall I think this is a great lipstick especially for the price and once my P10P is over I will be getting some more! I found it on Fragrance Direct here for only £1.99!

Review - Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream with SPF15

When I first tried Trilogy's Vital Moisturising Cream out I was a little unsure about it. I hate being able to feel creams on my skin and this moisturiser is quite thick. When I applied it, it took about 20-30 minutes for it to soak into my skin and for me to feel comfortable that I didn't have any cream on my face.
Not really what I want in a moisturiser!
I have combination skin and it made my t-zone quite oily. It would probably be best suited to someone with dry skin.

I thought I would give it another go though and I tried it again. This time after I applied it, I applied my make up on top of it straight away as I was heading out.
As a make up base I found that this moisturiser is amazing!
Applying my foundation on top of the moisturiser made it look great. It went on really smoothly and gave a really flawless finish!

Another thing I really like about the moisturiser is that it contains an SPF of 15 which is something my foundation doesn't have.

Before applying I do need to give it a good shake as the moisturiser can sometimes separate and it just water that comes out. As long as I remember to shake it though it is fine.

So overall I really like Trilogy's Vital Moisturising Cream. I wont be using it as a stand alone moisturiser but I will definitely be using it under my make up!

xx
